Review - Brooklyn Hide


Alex Harmon stuck her head into the 'Hills to check out some New York style bagels...



The team at Brooklyn Hide know their holy boiled bread, and they know their delicious deli fillings.



Creating a new wave in Sydney (hopefully one that ends the Mexican surplus), co-owners Dan Littlepage and Matthew Forsdike took their love of New York City’s melting pot of cultures and set up shop in Surry Hills last month.



Each bagel is named after one of the eclectic boroughs, the Noho ($10) features two poached eggs, alpaca ham, baby spinach, and an amazing tomato relish. It's your breakfast-brunch bagel with a coleslaw side – basically your perfect hangover cure.



The Tribeca ($10) with wagyu bresaola is a great lunch option, made delicious by the salty-sweet meat and refreshing dressing.  A special, The Chinatown ($13.50), is topped with omelette, blue swimmer crab remoulade, chilli, and XO sauce, and is the most unique tasting bagel in town.



There'll be big trouble in little China if they take this one away! If you're just after a snack, pop in for a Raisin and Cinnamon Bagel ($6.50) – their version of raisin toast. With a slick warehouse-style layout, a perfect cup of Little Marionette coffee and the best bundles of dough this side of Brooklyn; I have to say that this place is totally Kosher, man.
