This just arrived in my inbox, and I feel drawn no, COMPELLED to share.
Camille was one of the best shows I saw last year. She's got a great voice, but the way she inhabits a song is simply sublime. Watch her unravel as she steps into the work of songwriters like Jacques Brel & Nick Cave and sings about experiences that she couldn't possibly have had - yet she makes you believe she was there.
It SERIOUSLY is worth going and seeing. We are off to see it on Thu 07/02 at 8.15pm - whether you join us on that night or not, I highly recommend that you see this show.
'Like a cross between Sally Bowles, Patti Smith and PJ Harvey... a major star' The Scotsman
Spiegeltent superstar Camille returns to The Studio with a new season of the dark, darker and darkest songs of Nick Cave, Jacques Brel, Tom Waits, Kurt Weill, David Bowie and more.
Her shows are truly theatrical, like an actor telling a story through music rather than simply singing songs. A chameleon on stage, each song becomes a different character that she honestly and painfully inhabits.
