While the wine list didn’t amaze me, they do have a good cocktail list – I tried a great 10 Cane Mojito ($18) which showcased the luxury 10 Cane Rum nicely. It's pictured here on the right hand side. On the left of my photo is a Passionfruit and Vanilla Sour ($14) which had Belevdere Vodka, Vanilla Madagascar Liqueur and fresh passionfruit.
In terms of an entrée, I'd suggest sharing the Cured Meat Platter ($18) which contains a lovely Jamón serrano, great wood-fired bread, some salamis, brescaola (air dried) and nicely marinated olives. I was also told that they will be launching a Jamon Menu you can enjoy at the bar in future months!
The Zucchini Flowers ($7.50) were in my opinion, less successful
The focus of MuMu Grill is grass-fed, sustainable beef and the reason owner/chef Craig Macindoe (ex The Tasting Room) pushes this product is because he believes it tastes better, and is better for you (not to mention better for the cow). I recommend the 350g Prime Rib ($36) which is sourced from King Island, crusted in Szechuan Pepper and served with a lovely mash, and crisp green beans.
The Roast Pork ($32) is Bangalow Sweet Pork, sourced from my favourite butcher, Pino’s Meats in Kogarah. It is cooked in their woodfire oven, and served with nicely caramelised sweet potato, and bok choy.
If you can fit it in, I'd highly recommend one of their Brown Sugar Pavlovas ($12.50) which impressed with a sticky, slightly caramelised flavour.
By the way, the site has outdoor tables, and an attached pizza outlet called MuMu Pizza. They have one of the most interesting pizza menus I have seen, and if it were closer, I would have to try it out. Their menu includes a bread of Corn and Jalepeno Crust ($10.50), and pizzas like Proscuitto and Gorgonzola ($16.90) or Slow Roasted Lamb ($17.90). If anyone's been, I'd be keen to hear how they taste... they do mention a money back guarantee if you don't like it!
