Today I felt like I needed a treat.
My day started with buying half a dozen Coffin Bay, and half a dozen Cloudy Bay Oysters ($14.90), freshly shucked at Christies. Continuing on a roll, I bought a dozen Hervey Bay Scallops ($16.90), roe off on the shell. Post a recent review at Toko (it rocks) I was compelled to buy six green mega sized King Prawns ($18.98) - yes, still at Christies.
Breakfast was four deep fried tiger prawn cutlets ($8.00) with a wedge of lemon, cooked by Christies.
Afternoon snack was two pieces of divine Caramel ($2) from Caketown. This shop came courtesy of the lovely Siri, who deserves accolades for the suggestion.
Dessert will be a slice of Tetsun di Barolo and a slice of Pompeii Washed Rind from the very expensive cheese shop at the Fish Markets ($21.90 for less than 250g of cheese - it better be astounding).
I even managed to remember the Fiji Market has ghee, so I avoided a drive out to little India (Auburn).
I have a bottle of Jansz Sparkling Rose chilling to have with the spoils.
Anticipating dinner... priceless.
