Does My Bomb Look Big In This?

Where do I begin?

Thanks to princessebee I now have a Live Journal. All I can say is she better be as entertaining in her locked posts as she is in real life...

I feel slightly violated, like I have crossed a line and become one of 'you people'. But interestingly it has coincided with a time I actually feel like writing. Maybe it's the lack of organised structure around writing, like university assigments, a PhD, an Honours Thesis, so I better find something else to write about quickly!

Review - Matsuri Japanese Restaurant

I am a bit excited about going to dinner tonight with Ms Blonde Dee to Matsuri for a sushi/sashimi boat.

I've been a bit anti-sushi for the past 6 months. I think I was still getting over the closure of Zenbu (which lives on in my memory, for the tempura crab claw sushi, and the best dessert ever - three types of cheese cake deep fried in spring roll papers, served with three fruit coulis), but after lunch with Karen last Friday at the new Momo Japanese Restaurant in Gladesville, I think I am ready to embark on the quest for the perfect sushi once more.

And what better way to begin than to return to what you know best? This review of Matsuri Japanese Restaurant is written by me back on the 20th September, 2005:

Overall             Recommended
Food 9 Ambience 7 Service 8 Value 8

Best sushi and sashimi in Sydney. If you've ever wanted to eat sushi where the avocado is perfect every time, the raw salmon has no white on it, and the taste is superb, this is the place. Even their takeaway outlet next door does awesome sushi and sashimi, and instead of buying by the roll, you buy in 2 piece lots.

Staff are always friendly and attentive, though it does get busy. Go the sushi and sashimi boat if you have 2 or more people who like their raw fish... it's served on a wooden boat, looks awesome, tastes even better!

Congratulations Matsuri, I have now been a patron for over 4 years, and nobody has beaten you yet!

Pink Champagne

The other day, Lanny K turned up with some big news, and the most fabulous pink champagne.

It was called BIRD IN HAND Sparkling Pinot Noir and it was South Australian.
