Does My Bomb Look Big In This?

Osso Bucco - French Provincial Style

A trip to Vic's Meats brought home both oxtail and veal osso bucco, so we decided to go a little French with the veal so the two dishes would be very different. In this one it's white wine, leek, Swiss brown mushrooms, baby carrots, kipfler potatoes, dill, continental parsley, chives, thyme, green peppercorns, garlic and bay leaves. It was finished with cream, and served with crusty French bread.

Baked Quail Eggs with Kurobuta Ham and Sourdough Toast Fingers

We splurged with our Rudd-money on a Kurobuta Ham from Vic's Meats and we will now have a week of ham. Lucky two other kind people went quarters with us, so it wont be a whole month of pig related cookery.

This was an excellent breakfast - baked quail eggs with ham served with sourdough toast fingers. I love the little cast iron pots - it's fun to (carefully) open them and see what surprise the chef has prepared for your breakfast.
