Macadamia Brittle

My day improved rapidly when I went to the post office and found a package from Donna with Ed & Don's Hawaiian Macadamia Nut Brittle in it. This candy is so good, I would forsake all others for it (well, with the possible exception of salted caramel). There's something quite wonderful about the taste - at once both salty and sweet, rich with creamy butter and dotted with macadamia nut chunks. It's been made to the same recipe since 1956 from sugar, corn syrup, macadamia nuts, butter, baking soda, salt and vanilla.

I am lucky it's only found in Hawaii. For a while I tried to find the same stuff here, searching small town lolly shops, but there's something unique about the brittle in this product. It's not as hard as Australian brittles, it's much creamier, and it tastes better. Heaven!
