Macadamia Brittle

My day improved rapidly when I went to the post office and found a package from Donna with Ed & Don's Hawaiian Macadamia Nut Brittle in it. This candy is so good, I would forsake all others for it (well, with the possible exception of salted caramel). There's something quite wonderful about the taste - at once both salty and sweet, rich with creamy butter and dotted with macadamia nut chunks. It's been made to the same recipe since 1956 from sugar, corn syrup, macadamia nuts, butter, baking soda, salt and vanilla.

I am lucky it's only found in Hawaii. For a while I tried to find the same stuff here, searching small town lolly shops, but there's something unique about the brittle in this product. It's not as hard as Australian brittles, it's much creamier, and it tastes better. Heaven!

This gets me so excited for strange reasons, I think it's because the LOOK of it reminds me of this toffee I had on Guy Fawkes night in England two years ago, sitting in someone's back yard freezing my norks off - drinking proper mulled wine. Then this dish of biscuity looking sugar snap stuff comes past and I politely decline, thinking it's fruit slices or something.... then, oh my god.

I put some in my mouth. And some more. And some more. And some more. This toffee was orgasmically good, I had the contents of the container pretty much to myself as it was old hat to others and no one moved it away from me til Toby saw I was going in to a sugar coma. I will NEVER forget that toffee.

Tell me brittle is a bit like toffee, with more substance?

God I need a food wank just thinking about that toffee that night. *pants*

Is it chewy? God I want it.
Damn you to hell, tell me how to get some, or order me some, please please please? Are there other varieties? I'm obsessed! Why did you get this one if so?

Post me a biscuit *pants*

OMG there's two containers in that picture. I could be there in under three hours with my lock picks ... I could do this ... no wait. I could just ask how to get some again and do it the right way.

You've got me going. I want to try it so bad!!!!!
