So many bars, so little time...
Last week on the way to dinner I finally managed to popped in to The Owl House for another drink. It's a flaming good bar...
The drink I had was called Ernest Would Have Loved It, and it was basically an updated mojito with rum, lime, mint & Jed Blanc de Blanc.
Flaming gave the glass a nice smoky caramelisation that suited the sharp lime and rum. It also added an element of theatre to the whole affair when charismatic owner and New Yorker, Amir Halpert used the remaining alcohol to set the bar on fire!

While I was waiting for my dining companions at the Bellevue Dining Room, I popped upstairs for a drink. The rain was torrential, so sinking into an over-sized chesterfield sofa in the warm, wood and fabric heavy cigar style bar was much appreciated.
I stuck my nose in to eyeball their cute private dining room, before sitting back for a quick apéritif - I chose a Negroni which made me even keener to get downstairs to eat...
I had a great meal, which you can read about HERE.
