Now if you're heading back to Sydney, follow the signs to Forster, for a second pit-stop at the Wallis Lake Fishermen's Co-Op.
I picked up a locally caught lobster and was delighted to find a jar of pickled samphire to go with it.
It's also a pretty spot to throw down a dozen local bivalves and watch the fishermen sort out their nets.
Be warned: by now you may have amassed quite a bounty which should make dinner at home a breeze!
