Sunday we spent an hour or so wandering amongst the local Italian community at the Italian Festa on Norton Street. Whilst I was a bit disappointed with the lack of variety in the food and wine department (especially after the gastronomic success of the recent Portuguese Fair), we did enjoy a few things. Namely a wrap made of Northern Italian flat-bread (Piadine) containing proscuitto, rocket, bocconcini, and porcini mushrooms. And amongst the sausages on rolls, we found some lovely large pans of Paella.
Perhaps the best taste of the day was the Italian Gingerbread... no photo, it was eaten too quickly!
