Review - Tim Minchin's So Rock!

Tim Minchin was indeed 'So Rock!' I saw his last show, and loved it, so I was very much looking forward to going along to this show, and it contained some of the material (re-worked) that I had enjoyed, plus new material. My old favourites were the peace anthem for the Gaza Strip ("If you don't eat eat pig, and we don't eat pig, why can't we not eat pig together"), and canvas bags ("Take your canvas bags to the supermarket") complete with break down section. Of the new material, So Rock was awesome.

Speaking to a young dyke after the show, she said she loved that he managed to insult everyone except homos. I mentioned this to him backstage, and he replied - 'well I don't have any problems with homos'. But if you're a member of the Hillsong Church, or you DON'T believe in evolution - I would look out!

I urge you - go see this show. It will make you laugh til' you wet yourself (if you don't visit the loo first). It's political, and he's a songwriting/piano playing genius. Plus he's cute too, (if that sort of stuff helps). He swears, and there are er... adult themes (Perineum Millenium is a corker), so you might wanna leave under 16s at home.

Tim Minchin plays The Studio until the 13th May, 2007. Get your tickets here: http://www.sydneyoperahouse.com/sections/whats_on/boxoffice/event_details.asp?EventID=2078&sm=1&ss=1
