Ever the domestic goddess, this afternoon I prepared this platter of leftovers with a few fresh additions from Norton Street Grocer. I was tempted by their cheese, so you can see Buche d'Affinois (my favourite French triple cream) and Manchego (a Spanish cheese made from sheep's milk) as well as a little bitey Australian Cheddar we had left over from our sunday adventure to the Kings Cross Food and Wine Fair. I also picked up some red seedless grapes, a passionfruit, and some chargrilled zucchini, sweet potato and eggplant.
In the leftover department, there are three varieties of meat, as the rotisserie king made a stuffed duck on sunday, and a simply stunning picanha (a Portugeuse style beef tri-tip cut) on saturday night. We also had some leftover corned lamb from another butcher in Gloucester (see this entry for my earlier meaty fun in Gloucester) called Avon Valley Meats. This is quite an amazing product which is more akin to ham meets corned beef than lamb, and it makes an awesome addition to any cheese platter.
I'm thinking of popping out to Artspace, before enjoying the fruits of my labour with my partner.
